Phone Number Validator

Validity, country, line type & E.164 format.

Default country

Type a number with a + country code and it's detected automatically. Without one, it's read against the default country above.

This free phone number validator checks whether a number is valid for its country and tells you the country and region, theline type — mobile, fixed line, toll-free, VoIP, premium-rate and more — and formats the number four ways:E.164 (for storing and dialing), international, national and a tel: URI. Numbers written with a+ country code are detected automatically; otherwise they're read against the default country you pick.

Format and line-type validation uses Google's libphonenumber metadata and runs in your browser. For valid numbers we also look up thecarrier and location through a live network lookup, so those two fields — and only those — send the number to our server. Validation confirms a number is correctly formatted and assigned to a real numbering range; it does not dial the number, so it can't confirm the line is currently active or flag a disposable number, which needs a dedicated fraud API.
