This free gold value calculator works out the melt value of gold from its weight, karat and the current spot price. Hit “Fetch live prices” to pull the current gold spot price and convert it into any of the world’s currencies on the spot. It quotes the price in each market’s conventional unit — per troy ounce for the US and Europe, per gram in the Gulf, per 10 grams in India, per tola in Pakistan and Nepal — and you can switch the quote unit yourself. Then pick your weight unit and karat and it figures the pure gold content and its value. You can also type a spot price by hand. Use the “buyer pays” field to model a scrap or pawn offer that’s a percentage of melt. It handles grams, ounces, troy ounces, pennyweight and kilograms, and karats from 9K to 24K.

Gold trades as one global commodity priced in US dollars, so the live figure is the international spot converted at the current exchange rate. Domestic retail prices sit higher because of import duty, local tax (like India’s GST) and dealer margin — in India that’s roughly 15% over spot, while low-tax Gulf markets add close to nothing. No free data source publishes these landed retail prices, so the tool applies a built-in per-country premium automatically when you pick a currency, giving a price close to your local rate without you having to look anything up. These premiums are market estimates and shift with duty and tax changes, so treat the figure as a close guide rather than an exact quote.

Live gold prices come from gold-api.com and exchange rates from exchangerate-api.com’s open endpoint. Rates update through the day, so refetch for the latest figure.
