This free text to speech tool reads any text aloud using the voices built into your device, with adjustable speed, pitch and volume. Pick from every language your device can speak — the language menu lists each one your installed voices support and filters the voices to match. As it reads, each word is highlighted in sync so you can follow along, which makes it handy for proofreading, accessibility, learning pronunciation or just resting your eyes. Play, pause and resume mid-sentence, and see a live character, word and estimated-duration count as you type.

Long passages are automatically split into sentence-sized chunks and queued, which sidesteps the roughly-15-second cutoff some browsers impose on a single utterance — so a full article reads to the end instead of stopping partway. Your chosen voice, rate, pitch and volume are remembered on this device for next time. This uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis, with no account needed. Note that the browser speech engine can play audio but cannot export it to a file, so there is no MP3 download; use your operating system's screen or audio recorder if you need to capture the output.
